AI assistant configuration

Linux Pilot (the AI copilot) needs an API key. You set it inside the console — there's no config file to edit.

Set your key in Settings

Open Settings → AI, paste your API key, optionally pick a model, and save. The key is stored on the server and used for every Linux Pilot request. You can test it from the same screen before saving.

  • API key — required for Linux Pilot. Without it, Pilot shows a "key not set" message and the rest of the console works normally.
  • Model — defaults to gpt-4o-mini; any chat-completions model with tool calling works.
Note
Changing the key or model takes effect immediately — no service restart needed.
